Two hundred and fifty years since a bunch of scrappy colonists decided to make things official, and we're still out here celebrating with more fireworks than the neighbors want, questionable amounts of BBQ, and hollering all night long.
And, the Wild West Valley is going all out for the occasion — drone shows, parades, pie-eating contests, the works! I rounded up everything happening across Buckeye, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, and beyond into one guide. Grab a lawn chair, a giant beverage, and let's celebrate this milestone!

Sparkle in the Square — Litchfield Park
Litchfield Park kicks off the holiday a day early with Sparkle in the Square, a free Independence Day celebration at Litchfield Square Park featuring lawn games, food trucks, pie eating contests, and fireworks to close out the night.

Freedom Fling Water Balloon Contest — Round 1 at 6:30 PM, Round 2 at 6:45 PM, Round 3 at 7 PM, Championship round at 7:45 PM
Pie Eating Contest — Adults at 7:15 PM, Kids at 7:30 PM
Fireworks at approximately 8:30 PM
Onsite food vendors: Saucy Luke’s Craft BBQ, The Dog Father, The Queen's Corn, Aioli Gourmet Burgers, Tikiz & Rosie's Kitchen
Know before you go:
Bring blankets, lawn chairs & refillable water bottles or cups; wear sunscreen
No alcohol, canopies, drones, fireworks (including sparklers), glass, grills/firepits, or golf carts

🚲 Bike Decorating Party | The Center on Main — Deck out your ride and grab some sweet treats, courtesy of Thrive Swim & Ride Shop. Great warm-up if you're joining the Walk 'n' Wheel parade the next day | 5-6:30 PM (Verrado Residents Only)
🎬 Dive-In Movie: The Sandlot | Heritage Swim Park — Poolside family movie night, no registration needed (pool rules apply). Pre-movie festivities run 6-8 PM with snow cones courtesy of BrightView and popcorn from ACE Hardware | 6-10 PM (Verrado Residents Only)
